Sunday ride [Kingsong S22]
Me and Igor decided to ride up to abandoned mx track. It was too eroded and dry, though good enough for a couple shots.

Siri + ESP32 + LED strip
A recent little project. An esp32 board runs a web api and controls apa102 led strip. My phone is set up to send web requests to switch the strip on and off upon siri interactions. Everything is in early stage yet, i'm going to add more controls like color and animations, maybe some notifications. Also the form factor is yet to be decided, I would either print some case for it to serve as night...

Made a custom Z axis calibration probe for my cetus3d with tinyfab CPU. It is super easy to make and exceptionally precise. Besides, there is no problem with offset, like with other types of probes. Skip to 1:30 for cute timelapse

Nice😊
I have an APM 2.5.2 and I use arduplane 3.4.0 firmware and I used it for a long time without being able to calibrate the accelerometers, I had problems with AHRS varying a lot, so I used the missiona planner 1374 and I managed to calibrate, it was stable, but in flight a few times it restarts, sometimes between a flight mode switch. It didn't work well in flying wing. I'm gathering information.
How much time does it take to detect a touch? And how much time until the next touch can be detected? Eg. is it under 1 millisecond?
Oh man, its 2023 now. Every mcu has a hardware touch capabilities, and it’s almost instant detection. Totally don’t follow my method from this video, just grab an esp32, install arduino ide and go ahead tinkering with touch examples

Great video. Do you ever find the foot pegs scrape the group then turning on dirt? Looking at getting one and am just curious.
I have ironman pedals on mine and have the cutout angle at 41 degrees. The pedals are high, I ride mine on trails never cutout angle or hit the pedals
@@dirt.surfer ow cool. Thanks. Yeah im completely new to euc scene. Have ridden heaps of unicycles tho.
IMO not an issue at all, it hardly ever occurs unintentionally.
@@ruddy17 that's grat to know. Thanks. 😊

Tektronix 321?

is there any chance of getting any hold of NB-Fi modules/transceivers for DIYers?
rxyth I left the company long ago, so no idea. You may try to contact them at waviot.ru, however knowing how the company runs I’d say it is highly unlikely. I’d suggest just sticking to LoRa, pretty much the same performance.
@@ruddy17 waviot team won't show any interest for diy makers. I have contacted them by mail , linkedin all the possible ways. But no luck. Do NB-FI is really that much powerful as they shown in waviot calculator?
@@priyashreeb4833 That's unfortunately the reaction I'd expect from them. Their business is focused on end-device supply, not integration. You'd have better chances if you could visit them :) The sensitivity (=comm range) is indeed that good, though it comes with a high price for gateway hardware. Most of the gains are due to exceptionally good low noise SDR system, the gateways sell for like $1000+ and require a high mast installation on the highest local rooftop to actually achieve declared distance. For DIY I'd go with lora or nb-iot instead as those are actually available and not that much weaker.
@@ruddy17 Isn't the protocol "open", if so in theory one could implement it, i guess, but i don't find much info about it. Problem with lorawan gateways being kinda expensive
@@minecrafter9099 I've left waviot long ago, but from what I know they released the protocol description in Russian, but not in a way that is easily implementable. However there is a closed source implementation for stm32 that you could use. The problem still is getting hold of hardware. Waviot targets russian B2B market, not so open to independent diy folk. Check here github.com/waviot and try to communicate to them sales@waviot.ru , but frankly, I wouldn't expect any response.
Thanks for posting your updates. I was thinking of doing the same using an Adafruit Feather nRF52840 Express. Will you be posting code on GitHub? Found a few using other MCU like qsxcv with nRF24 and Teensy.
Where can I buy it?
what is the angle that applies with long distance detection for this device?
Hi! is it possible to have multiple devices read by one controller? how about reading its signal using serial communication? thanks for any answer
William J. U. Sure it is easily possible
You have its solution?? If yes please also help me regarding this.
Can't get the connection , can you update connection diagram plz?
what is the range??
About 10km in urban environment, about 50km line of sight proven, possibly even more
Can i use this at sea?? Or create a mesh network with these modules?
you can use it in the sea, the range will totally be restricted by horizon only. I am not working with waviot anymore but I may consult you on possible solutions if you'd like. check your PM
oh, just write me an email to ruddy.rudeman (at) gmail.com
Okay, Thank You.
Where did you get it? Is it using SPI or parallel? 🤔
From PlasticLogic directly. Don't know, I only played with it as it is with manufacturer's demo board, never used it in any project
What is the max range?
Chris M about 5-7m
Thanks!
Niceee !!! How did you install the short pins to trigger the on/off button and the shooter?
Opened the case, found the pads on the pcb ,that go to buttons, soldered thin wires to them, cut a hole on the back of the case, glued the connector there, soldered my wires to the connector, assembled the case back together.
Hi Sergey! I also received this unit, but have some problems. All readings (except for approx. 1 second during spin-up of the motor) have the bad-data-flag set, otherwise I can read out and decode the packets just fine, so protocol and connection are good. Do you have any suggestions, or did you also experience this behavior at some point?
Try lowering the motor RPM (give it less voltage). This device has quite narrow band of stable RPM. Maybe you spin it too fast, thus it feels ok only after start, while it still not accelerated. For me it worked at about 5-6 revs per second.
Hi, thanks for your answer, it was already in the right rpm-range (I use PWM-control to keep it at a stable 5rpm). I received a second unit and this works perfectly, so it was just a faulty unit I got the first time..
Done ! I do it with full integer arithmetic and do few % CPU on PIC32 80Mhz with RPLIDAR A2 !!!
I just need to do split and merge line extractor to compress lidar data from my robot. I use a long range slow speed modem and for now I interlace all sample point to reduce the amount of data to transmit. you can live test my robot and lidar here www.serveurperso.com/?page=robot (there is no ads)

sure, there's a number of guides on this in google
So adalight from adafruit can be use with this without any modifications
Nope. Adalight is ws2801, and mine are APA102
Hi. Do you have smart water meter with the capability to stop the water flow? Or do you plan to make one?
+Umar Said Not yet, but we are looking into this. The problem is that electronic valves eat a lot of current, the small AA battery has no chance to provide enough. Some circuit to accumulate charge is required. Watch our site for updates =)
Is this the STM32 Discovery (F100) without the built-in touch controller?
+Ekawahyu Susilo Yup, touch control is implemented in software using pure GPIO functionality. In short - you set GPIO to output low, then start the timer and switch GPIO to input with pull-up (internal or external). Due to pad (and human body) capacitance, the GPIO input level will get high not instantly(it will charge the capacitance for some time, no more than dozen cpu ticks), this period is measured with the timer and compared to a threshold. Most of hardware touch controllers work just in the same way.
+Sergey “Ruddy” Omelchenko This is really cool way to get low cost "touch controller". Great job man! I am gonna try this on one of my Discovery kit. Unfortunately, I have only L053 and F072, which has built-in touch controller, but I will disable it. Do you think it might work on any STM32 GPIO? Thanks for the quick reply.
+Ekawahyu Susilo Will surely work with any GPIO, you can search for vids where guys do it on avr attinys. However 1) I see no reason not to use builtin touch, if it is available, and 2) performance depends highly on cpu freq and pull-up resistance. The less resistance, the faster the input level switches and less resolution you get. To get this board working with internall pull-up (about 50kohm) I overclocked it to about 60mhz. With external pullup of 1Mohm the voltage on the pin will climb slower and it would work on 16mhz nice, but it is 1 more external part to connect.
Ah, I got you, so you disabled the internal pull-up completely and getting the ramp slowly building up from the external 1M ohm resistor. What if we do some sort of PWM-ing the 50k ohms, so that we could slow the charging down?
+Ekawahyu Susilo This will just add a constant delay for time when the pin floats. Won't help, as difference in ramp time between two cases (touched and untouched) will remain the same.
Nice! Too bad this only works with the GoPro 3. I have the 4 and I really like it.
+Joel McLaughlin Nope, I am pretty sure it is possible with GoPro too (it has different tracing, but hey, buttons are buttons). Though looking at it post factum - not the greatest decision. 3dr's solo can control gopro with zero modifications whatsoever
+Joel McLaughlin with gopro 4 i mean
hey just wondering what changes in the code did you make ? is it working purely off the sonar ? no fusion with the accelerator ? what PID values did you use ?
+Mantas Pukelis I wrote some custom code to support it. Don't have neither the drone nor the board, so can't share the code, but these sonars are supported in APM afaik. In my case sonar kicked in instead of baro on some predefined altitude, no fusing.
Thank you, just one question Can you remember if you used any kind of filtering or averaging or just used raw altitude values?
From sonar*
+Mantas Pukelis simple moving average if I recall correctly

hey so do you have like a guide or sample code or something i really wanna get this working but i need your help. thank you.
+Mo it was ages ago, I haven't documented anything. sorry mate
alright thanks anyway.
+Sergey “Ruddy” Omelchenko I'd love to see your code, would you put it up on GitHub? We could build upon it and make something cool. Is this all impossible via the connector on the back of the device?
+Charlie J I could be wrong but this is more of a hardware hack. All the python code is doing is driving a couple GPIO pins, you can find tutorials for that. The main thing is physically tapping into those buttons on the camera
You are exactly right. Finally, some good sense in my comments :D

How did you connect the sonar PW pin to the aio pro?
Hi . Just did a Similar project controlling the gopro. I use the wireless approach, you can access the wireless from the gopro and controll it without make changes to it . Regards
do you have any notes posted on the web? I would love to do a similar project and any guidance that you could offer would be much appreciated.
